The nightly check and the daily email

What runs at 03:00, what the daily email can contain, and when it stays quiet.

The nightly check

Every night at 03:00 in your store's time zone, the one set in Shopify under Settings › General, Carboy:

  1. Reads every order updated since its last check, up to 7 days back, and takes in any order, refund or cancellation Shopify didn't send. Orders it already has are skipped.
  2. Compares every pooled size in Shopify with its pool. A number it can't explain gets the same two looks as a hand edit.
  3. Rewrites any size whose last write to Shopify didn't go through.
  4. Checks that each pool's amount matches its Activity.

The bottom of the Pools page shows the last result: every size matched its pool, how many things it fixed, hand edits waiting for you, or that it couldn't finish and will try again the next night.

The daily email

The daily summary goes out at the hour you pick in Settings, in your store's time zone: 05:00, 06:00, 07:00 (the default), 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 12:00, 17:00, 18:00 or 20:00. It is sent only when something needs you, and can contain:

SectionWhat it lists
Changed in Shopify by handPools holding a hand edit, with each size's units
Running lowPools whose smallest size has fewer than 3 left, with the amount left
Running out soonPools that run out within 14 days at the recent pace
Sold more than the pool heldPools with an oversold order line in the last 24 hours
Overnight checkWhat the nightly check fixed on its own

When none of these has anything in it, no email is sent. The subject says what's inside, for example Carboy: 1 changed by hand, 2 running low.

Who gets it

The address in Send to, or the store owner's email when that's empty. Untick Daily summary to stop it.

Instant low alerts

Tick Email right away when a pool hits its alert to hear the moment a pool runs low, instead of waiting for the summary. It is off by default. You get one email per drop; the alert resets once the pool is refilled. See Run-out forecast and low alerts.
